Overview
Our client, a global food manufacturer, is looking for a Procurement Director to lead global procurement strategy for ingredients and raw materials.
This position offers the opportunity to shape how the business sources some of its most critical food and ingredient categories. From rethinking sourcing strategies and identifying new supply partners to exploring alternative geographies and building more resilient models, this is a chance to create long-term, strategic value.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading the global procurement strategy across core food categories – including commodities, ingredients, and raw materials
- Reviewing existing procurement models to identify opportunities for improvement across processes, supplier performance, cost efficiency, and alignment with broader business objectives
- Developing new sourcing models, identifying new suppliers and locations, and improving resilience across the supply base
- Managing category volatility in raw materials and commodities, ensuring the business stays agile and commercially strong
- Supporting pricing and contract decisions with robust forecasting and scenario planning
- Evaluating and mitigating supply risk – whether geopolitical, environmental, financial, or compliance-related
- Working closely with NPD, technical, and supply chain teams to align sourcing with product development, compliance, and operational needs
- Building supplier partnerships that deliver on quality, cost, risk, and ESG goals
- Providing practical support to regional teams while embedding structure, governance, and commercial visibility globally
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong experience in procurement of ingredients, raw materials, or commodities, ideally within the food manufacturing is a must.
- Proven track record of building category strategies across multiple markets or business units
- Confident working across functions — especially with supply chain, NPD, and technical teams
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills, with an understanding of both short-term and strategic value
- Comfortable operating in a global or matrixed business environment
