Ferrero, with its amazing portfolio of delicious brands and products loved by millions of consumers globally, asked us to identify a Global Director of Digital Excellence to accelerate a 'digital first' approach in the organisation complementing their existing strengths with consumers and customers.
They wanted a leader with the credibility to create a vision for the future and mobilise support to start bringing it to life; someone who would stay the course and bounce back when encountering bumps on the road to change; and it was important the person would be based at the Global HQ in Luxembourg to partner with their senior team.
Finding the right type of challenger
Leveraging our previous work with Ferrero, we mapped out businesses recognised for their digital credentials and targeted people who could bring a challenger perspective within an organisation renowned for its rich heritage of brands and instore executional strengths.
We constructed a focused list of CPG companies and candidates recognised for their capabilities in the digital space with a solidly international profile.
It was critical to find a subject matter expert able to partner with markets to both inspire the change and to understand and learn from local insights and issues.
Leading the change
From a strong shortlist of exceptional leaders matching the brief, the candidate selected was excited by the opportunity to build a digital roadmap from scratch and already recognised for their achievements in this sphere.
The talented leader has now successfully relocated and onboarded and has established the allies and network to help shape and build momentum for a digital future.
